Solid feel and accurate Titleist 775 CB Iron Set
Over the summer, I had a chance to try the Titleist 775.CB Forged Irons. The irons right off the bat caught my eye with its progressive cavity and overall good looks. This iron set keeps up with Titleist's try at not only making the best golf equipment for the best players, but also the best equipment for the average player.
Forged 775.CB irons feature a blended set design with oversize, multi-material channel back long irons that seamlessly transition to mid-size short irons to maximize playability with shot control. The oversize long irons feature enhanced offset for a higher, straighter flight, while the traditional short irons are designed for shot control and greater playability into and around the greens.
This set is a blended iron set for the aspirational player seeking maximum playability and a high, straight ball flight.
Oversize, multi-material long irons deliver an easy-up ball flight for maximum distance and forgiveness.
Forged stainless steel body in the 3, 4 and 5 irons accounts for nearly 80% of the weight of the clubhead. This locates the majority of the weight around the perimeter for enhanced off-center impact performance.
Thin, strong face insert in the 3, 4 and 5 irons redistributes 20g of weight to the perimeter and sole of the clubhead for a low, deep center of gravity for superior playability.
Features: 1. Forged aluminum vibration dampener bar in the 3, 4 and 5 irons reinforces the thin face insert, reduces unwanted vibration and improves sound and feel. 2. Longer long-iron shafts in the 3 and 4 irons create more dynamic loft and increased clubhead speed for greater distance. 3. Mid-size short irons for shot control and greater playability into and around the greens. 4. Strong lofts through the set provide greater distance and trajectory control.
The face of the iron is fairly thin, which helps to allow even more weight to the perimeter of club, and are finished with CNC milled groves for consistency. The way these irons are made not only looks great, but using the stainless steel, they will last longer, and keep their great look while you have them.
Players' review:
"I'm sure you will love them. I got mine a few weeks ago, and have had the chance to play once and practice a bit, and I like them very well. The only other club that I felt hit as nicely as the Mizuno mp-60's, but I'm too cheap to drop that kind of dough. I got my 775's used off of Ebay with two Vokey wedges for only $360. The Mp-60's were still around 550-600 for anything decent, unfortunately."
"Having hit the 6 iron in the golf shop multiple times, I though it stood out as one of the smoother feeling clubs. Great shaft too. I have been giving serious thought to getting this set myself. I think I'm gonna hold out till the fall, I believe Titilest will be coming out with some new irons then. I also have to give props to Mizuno's irons too. They are top of the line as well."
"Well, I've had the clubs for a while now and I love them. I have always been a low ball hitter but I hit towering shots with these and have gained a noticeable amount of distance. Nothing crazy but it got me more up to speed with my playing partners. When I used to play with them I'd be a club behind them in distance every time. Now I am pulling the same iron they pull."
"A well made set of irons that are very easy to use, there are no bad points that I can see."
"These are great clubs. Solid feel when hit properly. Accurate, Clean look and feel. I'm Mid-Handicapped. I haven't discovered any better club."
